Every year, Louisville locals head to the track on the Thursday before Derby. We celebrate this tradition as we create the cocktails of Thurby!
Jackie Zykan, Master taster at Old Forester, will show you how to make the Derby-season classic Mint Julep from scratch, as well as deep dive into crafting the official cocktail of Thurby and Louisville, the Old Fashioned.
We will explore different cocktail techniques to help you master your home bartending skills, and cover multiple variations to lay the theoretical groundwork which will empower you to use what you already have at home to craft your best cocktails!
Tickets are donation-based. All proceeds from this class will go to Apron Inc. in support of Louisville independent restaurants affected by COVID-19 closures.
